Job Summary

The Water Treatment Plant Chemist oversees the DM Water Treatment Plant's operation, maintenance, and quality assurance to ensure high-purity water supply for boiler and turbine operations in compliance with safety, operational efficiency, and environmental regulations.

This role is responsible for managing the entire DM water treatment process, including RO, EDI, Softener, Degasser Tower, and Mixed Bed units.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and operate the DM water treatment process, ensuring consistent and reliable supply of DM water with required quality parameters.
  • Conduct regular chemical analysis of raw water, DM water, condensate, and feedwater to maintain steam purity and prevent scaling and corrosion.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot equipment issues like conductivity spikes, regeneration failures, or membrane fouling.
  • Manage daily logs, chemical usage records, test reports, and regeneration schedules.
  • Prepare reports for internal audits, environmental monitoring, and compliance with regulatory norms.
  • Collaborate with boiler operations team to ensure feedwater and steam chemistry compliance.
  • Lead a team of water treatment technicians/operators and conduct training on safe plant operation and emergency response.
