Legal Advisor Role

This is a challenging role requiring a highly skilled and experienced Legal Advisor to provide strategic and operational legal support to the real estate business.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide expert legal advice on diverse legal, regulatory and compliance matters to internal and external stakeholders.
  2. Advise on civil/criminal matters and liaise with external counsel to pursue cases.
  3. Research, analyze and interpret complex policies, laws and regulations to prepare high-quality submissions, reviews and recommendations.
  4. Lead the efficiency and effectiveness of the legal department's service in day-to-day operations.
  5. Ensure policy, legal and regulatory compliance and identify, minimize and manage risk.
Key Activities:
  1. Initiate and pursue legal proceedings as required by the organization.
  2. Draft and/or review legal documents such as contracts and agreements.
  3. Monitor legal obligations under contracts and agreements to ensure compliance.
  4. Assist in the formulation, implementation and/or amendment of policies.
Liaison Responsibilities:
  1. Work closely with the Business Development Team to de-risk land/real estate acquisition process.
  2. Attend meetings with property owners/developers/societies and issue public notice for inviting claims of third-party.
  3. Issue title certificate for the property/project and prepare documentations required for completion of acquisition.
Qualification and Experience:
  • LLB
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in handling legal matters as a practicing Attorney-at-Law or in a corporate environment.
Expected Competencies:
  • Technical understanding of the business and operations of the Organization
  • Excellent interpersonal communication at all levels (verbal and written).
  • Problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to cope with high levels of responsibility and maintain information confidentiality.
