Radiology Medical Coder Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Radiology Medical Coder to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing radiology reports, assigning accurate diagnosis and procedure codes, and ensuring coding compliance in accordance with industry guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze radiology reports to assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes, adhering to ACR, CMS, and payer guidelines.
  • Coding experience in multiple radiology modalities including X-ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, and Radiation oncology.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, billing staff, and auditors to resolve coding discrepancies and improve overall quality.
  • Stay up-to-date with coding guidelines, NCCI edits, and regulatory changes to ensure accurate and compliant coding practices.
  • Meet productivity and accuracy benchmarks as established by the department.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of hands-on experience in radiology coding (IR preferred).
  • Familiarity with MIPS Coding and ability to meet daily productivity and accuracy benchmarks.
  • In-depth knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II codes.
  • Familiarity with payer-specific rules and LCD/NCD policies.
