Lead Software Test Automation Engineer

Job Description:

The Lead Test Analyst will be responsible for designing and implementing test automation frameworks for both front end and back end applications, including Pega, Java/Services/APIs, and cloud-based applications. This role requires hands-on manual, automation, and End-to-End testing, as well as collaboration with QA team members to deliver complex projects while interfacing with external teams.

This individual will assess risk associated with new software implementations, review and guide code from other team members through reviews, and ensure defects are quickly assessed and/or mitigated and resolved in non-production or production environments. They will design, develop, and execute automated test scripts using Java/Python and BDD Cucumber framework, create and manage SOAP and RESTful web service tests using SoapUI, and develop and execute SQL queries to validate data integrity and perform backend testing on PostgreSQL databases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work within an agile team to develop, test, and maintain business applications built on Pega and Java technologies
  • Leading End-to-End test calls and coordinating UAT testing
  • Defining test process including required test activities, deliverables, and test schedule
  • Solving complex problems; applying new perspectives to existing solutions
  • Ensures defects are quickly assessed and/or mitigated and resolved
  • Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts using Java/Python and BDD Cucumber framework
  • Create and manage SOAP and RESTful web service tests using SoapUI
  • Develop and execute SQL queries to validate data integrity and perform backend testing on PostgreSQL databases
  • Collaborate with development and QA teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of high-quality software solutions
  • Utilize AWS services for test environment setup, configuration, and management
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives
  • Use JIRA for defect tracking, test management, and reporting
  • Provide detailed test reports, documentation, and feedback on software quality and issues
  • Working independently with minimal guidance

Salary Estimate: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum based on location and experience.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Hand-on test automation experience with preferably 2-3+ years in the Healthcare industry
  • Expert level system test automation experience
  • Expertise developing automated test scripts using Selenium, Cucumber, Java scripting, node.js, and JSON
  • Expert level End-to-End testing experience across multiple product teams
  • Experience developing Java code with latest web design concepts
  • Experience with AWS services and PostgresSQL database for test environment setup, configuration, and management
  • Experience in Agile development methodology
  • Good understanding of multiple test automation frameworks and Dev Ops
  • Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment, learn quickly, and solve problems
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate business needs
  • Demonstrated advanced technical and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adjust to meet the needs of the audience
  • Detail oriented with the ability to work and guide others during time constraints to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and train teams
  • Strong leadership/influencing skills

Location: Primarily based in the Innovation Hub in Hyderabad, India, with flexibility to work remotely as required.
