Senior Firmware Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Firmware Engineer with strong expertise in Audio Codec development and Rust programming. The candidate will design, implement, and optimize low-level firmware for audio codec solutions, ensuring high performance, reliability, and compliance with multimedia and embedded standards.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's/Master's degree in Electronics, Computer Engineering, or related field. They should have at least 8-14 years of experience in embedded firmware development, with a focus on audio codec projects. Strong hands-on expertise in Rust for embedded systems is required, along with good working knowledge of C/C++ for low-level embedded development.

Familiarity with audio codec standards and algorithms (compression, decoding, error handling) is also necessary. Experience with RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr) or Embedded Linux (ALSA/ASoC) is a plus. Cross-compilation, build systems (Cargo, CMake, Yocto), and debugging skills using JTAG/GDB and embedded analysis tools are essential.

The role involves designing and developing firmware modules for audio codec functionality (encode, decode, streaming, signal processing). Implementing low-level device drivers and HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer) in Rust, with C/C++ interoperability where required, is also part of the job. Working with embedded communication protocols (I2S, I2C, SPI, DMA, USB Audio) and optimizing performance, memory footprint, and power efficiency of audio pipelines are key responsibilities.

Collaboration with hardware/DSP/system engineers to integrate codecs on target platforms and supporting unit, integration, and regression testing for audio firmware validation are critical tasks. Ensuring compliance with audio standards (AAC, MP3, SBC, Opus, PCM, Dolby) and contributing to code reviews, technical documentation, and best practices adoption are also essential duties.

  • Key Responsibilities:
