Job Title: Cloud Infrastructure Manager

About the Role:

The position of Cloud Infrastructure Manager is a high-level technical role that focuses on the management and implementation of cloud infrastructure strategies for an organization. This includes creating and executing infrastructure strategies, reviewing and analyzing existing infrastructure effectiveness, negotiating purchases, inventory management, and interacting with senior management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing cloud infrastructure strategies to improve system efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Reviewing and analyzing existing infrastructure systems to identify areas for improvement.
  • Negotiating the purchase of software, hardware, and IT supplies with management approval.
  • Managing inventory of software licenses, hardware, and other IT supplies.
  • Interacting with senior management on matters requiring acceptance of alternative approaches.
  • Managing outsourced teams for daily operations.
  • Providing solutions to complex business problems using in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives.
  • Performing live DR activities and DR drills periodically.
  • Having working knowledge of server, storage, database, Operating Systems (Windows and Linux), and network.
  • Production Incident Management.
  • Regulatory Compliance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.

Experience:

  • At least 15 years of experience in infrastructure management for both on-premise data centers and cloud infrastructures.

Required Skills:

  • Program and project management expertise.
  • Planning and executing infrastructure-related projects.
  • In-depth hands-on knowledge of infrastructure such as server, storage, database, Operating Systems (Windows and Linux), and network.
  • Good knowledge and exposure to cloud computing.

Functional Competencies:

  • Ability to perform infrastructure discovery assessments and transformation strategies.
  • Holistic understanding of all data center functions (production operations, change control, DR/business recovery, helpdesk, systems management, and facilities).
  • Experience with private and public cloud architectures, pros/cons, and migration considerations.
