DevOps Engineer Lead

We are looking for an experienced DevOps professional to lead our team.

  • This is a blend of individual contribution and team management, focusing on building, deploying, and managing functional applications.
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Planning, design, management, maintenance, and support of cloud infrastructure for high-traffic workloads that operate at an enterprise scale.
  • Driving automation of tasks and implementation of infrastructure services.
  • Identifying and rectifying potential risks within the infrastructure, network, or security.
  • Researching, setting up, testing, and implementing technologies and solutions to improve the performance, reliability, availability, security, and efficiency of infrastructure on AWS.
  • Troubleshooting, performing root cause analysis, and working closely with developers to implement corrective/preventive actions during and after an incident.
  • Software architecture design skills for maintaining High Availability and Fault Tolerance.
  • Documenting and auditing DevOps practices.
  • Providing leadership and directions to DevOps engineers.

Skill sets include:

  • Hands-on expertise with Kubernetes (EKS preferred) and related cluster components such as logging, metrics, security, RBAC, autoscaling, etc.
  • 7 years of experience in AWS, including minimum 1+ years in a Lead DevOps role, with expertise in a broad range of AWS technologies such as EC2, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, EKS, ECS, Security Hub, DynamoDB, Secret Manager, and Guard Duty.
  • Expertise in DevOps technologies like Ansible, Terraform, Salt, Bash Scripting, CI/CD, etc.
  • Good programming experience with at least one of the following languages: Python, Java, or Go.
  • Expertise in automating, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
  • Experience in a 24x7x365 uptime Amazon AWS environment leveraging git repositories and CI/CD tools like TeamCity.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex infrastructure resource and application deployment issues (e.g., by using APM tools like NewRelic, Dynatrace, etc).
  • Experience working with observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus preferred).
  • Knowledge of best practices and cloud security (AWS Well-Architected Framework).
  • Comfortable working in an agile environment with a globally-distributed team.
  • Good knowledge of logging and tracking issues in JIRA.

Required Skills:

  • Strong Analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Job Requirements:

We are seeking an experienced DevOps engineer with 7+ years of overall experience, including a minimum of 1 year in managing a team.

  • Lead DevOps Engineers will be responsible for planning, design, management, maintenance, and support of cloud infrastructure for high-traffic workloads that operate at an enterprise scale.
  • They will also drive automation of tasks and implementation of infrastructure services, identify and rectify potential risks within the infrastructure, network, or security.
  • The ideal candidate should have expertise in AWS, including minimum 1+ years in a Lead DevOps role, with expertise in a broad range of AWS technologies such as EC2, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, EKS, ECS, Security Hub, DynamoDB, Secret Manager, and Guard Duty.

Preferred Qualifications:
