Translation Coordinator Job Summary

This role requires an expert in English to Hindi translation who can manage and maintain content across various platforms.

  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for translating written content into accurate and meaningful Hindi for use on websites, social media, news releases, media statements, newsletters, video scripts, billboards, leaflets, letters, demonstration materials, and other outreach materials.
  • They will coordinate with freelance translators and proofreaders working in other Indian languages to ensure smooth, timely, and accurate delivery of multilingual campaign content.
  • The successful candidate will also manage and maintain a website, including uploading content in accordance with standard operating procedures and ensuring regular updates with the latest campaign news, blogs, and resources.
  • In addition, they will support content development and management of Facebook pages and other regional social media platforms, including responding to followers with approved, informative, and polite replies.
  • Collaboration with the Online and Campaigns teams is required to create and adapt creatives for social media use.
  • The Translation Coordinator must stay informed about ongoing and upcoming campaigns to ensure consistency and accuracy across all content.
  • A strong understanding of animal rights and PETA India's mission is essential for this role.
  • Proficiency in social media trends and engagement practices, as well as experience with website and social media content management, are highly desirable.
  • At least two years of practical experience in translation from English to Hindi is required.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should possess excellent translation skills from English to Hindi, strong communication skills, and the ability to effectively manage a team of freelance translators. He/She should also have a good understanding of social media trends and engagement practices, experience with website and social media content management is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

The Translation Coordinator will be responsible for managing and maintaining content across various platforms, coordinating with freelance translators and proofreaders, managing and maintaining a website, supporting content development and management of Facebook pages and other regional social media platforms, collaborating with the Online and Campaigns teams, staying informed about ongoing and upcoming campaigns, possessing a strong understanding of animal rights and PETA India's mission, and meeting all assigned deadlines with efficiency and accuracy.
