Job Description:

The English Language Specialist will work as an on-site consultant for India's National Assessment Centre, PARAKH, NCERT.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and review items for large-scale assessments and surveys administered to 10 million+ learners.
  • Develop tools for holistic progress mapping, multidisciplinary teaching practices, and holistic assessments.
  • Lead the development of Holistic Progress Cards for Preparatory and Secondary Stage by PARAKH.
  • Deliver capacity-building workshops to 1000+ educators to implement evidence-centered teaching and assessment practices.

Requirements:

  • Provide expert knowledge of psychometrics, educational measurement, and large-scale educational testing programs.
  • Frame problems and propose solutions to establish PARAKH.
  • Design and lead research studies, including overseeing Psychometricians.
  • Consult external clients on psychometric and data issues related to conducting large-scale assessment programs.
  • Complete statistical and research plans and review results for reasonableness and accuracy.
  • Prepare reports and presentations of project study results and present these to the client.
  • Represent our team and organization to the client.
  • Coordinate psychometric work with HQ.
  • Conduct seminars on psychometric issues for staff, test committees, clients, and policy boards.
  • Coach and mentor staff, as appropriate.
  • Participate in interviewing and training staff as needed.
