We are seeking a highly skilled Actuary to lead our efforts in developing innovative parametric insurance models that utilize satellite imagery and climate data.

The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing complex data sets, identifying trends, and developing predictive models for climate-related events. They will also design and implement parametric insurance products based on satellite and climate data, using mathematical and statistical techniques to assess probabilities and financial impacts of climate risks.

To succeed in this role, you will need a strong background in actuarial science, mathematics, or statistics, as well as experience working with geospatial data and GIS software. Proficiency in statistical analysis and modeling software, such as R or Python, is also required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends and develop predictive models
  • Design and implement parametric insurance products
  • Use mathematical and statistical techniques to assess climate risks
  • Collaborate with data scientists and geospatial experts
  • Develop pricing models for parametric insurance products
  • Evaluate and minimize basis risk
  • Prepare presentations and reports explaining findings to stakeholders

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
  • Associate or Fellow designation from a recognized actuarial society
  • 5+ years of experience in actuarial work, preferably in property and casualty insurance
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and modeling software
