Natural Language Processing (NLP) Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Senior NLP Engineer to join our team at RELX INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED. As a key member of our software development team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing NLP solutions using Java-based technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of NLP algorithms and models using Java-based technologies.
  • Apply machine learning and deep learning techniques to extract insights from unstructured text data.
  • Develop efficient algorithms and pipelines for preprocessing, parsing, and analyzing large volumes of text data.
  • Evaluate and fine-tune NLP models using appropriate evaluation metrics for accuracy, scalability, and performance.
  • Maintain and enhance NLP libraries and frameworks, ensuring they are up to date with the latest advancements.
  • Propose and implement innovative solutions to complex NLP challenges.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate NLP systems into larger software solutions.
  • Stay updated with the latest NLP research, methodologies, and tools.
  • Perform statistical analysis on model performance and refine algorithms for better results.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues in the NLP models and systems, ensuring smooth operation in production environments.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering.
  • BS in Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Expertise in Java development.
  • In-depth knowledge of NLP techniques and methodologies.
  • Experience with NLP libraries and frameworks such as SpaCy, NLTK, Stanford NLP, or similar.
  • Strong background in machine learning and deep learning models.
  • Proven experience in developing NLP systems from scratch, including data preprocessing, model training, and performance evaluation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt and implement novel approaches.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of clearly presenting ideas and collaborating with teams.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with modern deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) for NLP.
  • Experience working with large-scale text data and big data technologies.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based NLP services like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure NLP APIs.
