Heating Air Conditioning Service Technician

Job Description:

The role of a Heating Air Conditioning Service Technician involves ensuring the optimal performance and efficiency of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This includes installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of various HVAC equipment such as air conditioners, chillers, furnaces, air handlers, and ventilation units.

Key responsibilities include performing routine preventive maintenance, diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in HVAC systems, reading and interpreting technical diagrams and manufacturer specifications, adjusting system controls to improve performance, and testing and balancing air and hydronic systems to meet performance standards.

A Heating Air Conditioning Service Technician must maintain accurate service and repair records, document all work performed, and ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and environmental regulations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as an HVAC Technician or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical components, and refrigeration cycles
  • Ability to use HVAC tools, gauges, and diagnostic equipment
  • Understanding of safety procedures and occupational health regulations
  • Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities
