Data Engineer

We are seeking a seasoned Data Engineer to spearhead large-scale data pipeline design and development on Google Cloud Platform.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Pipeline Development: Develop, construct, test, and maintain data acquisition pipelines for structured and unstructured data in GCP.
  • Data Engineering Expertise: Build complex datasets based on business requirements, designing scalable 'big data' architecture and identifying opportunities for data acquisition through collaboration with stakeholders and clients.
  • Technical Requirements: Translate business needs into technical specifications, leveraging various tools within the GCP ecosystem, including Python, Data Flow, DataStream, CDC (Change Data Capture), Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, Pub Sub, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, logs & alerts to effectively monitor pipelines.
  • Integration and Security: Utilize SAP SLT to replicate SAP tables to GCP, develop JSON messaging structures for integration with various applications, leverage DevOps and CI/CD practices (GitHub, Terraform) to ensure pipeline reliability and scalability, partition and retrieve content in Big Query, apply IAM roles & Policy Tags for secure data management.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a data engineering role, with core GCP experience of 3-4 years.
  • Familiarity with GCP services, including Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, Pub Sub, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, DataFlow, DataStream, CDC.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and data engineering principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Work Environment: This is a remote position with US work hours. The resource may need to adjust their schedule by 1-2 hours occasionally.
