Our school offers pre-vocational and vocational training programmes, including the NIOS curriculum, supported by a multidisciplinary team of rehabilitation professionals providing physiotherapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy.
As a Physiotherapist, you will work with learners with multiple disabilities and guide participants in the NIOS programme. If you are passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and adults with special needs, we invite you to join us.
Job Responsibilities:- Conduct comprehensive physiotherapy assessments for children with a variety of needs (e.g. cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, Down syndrome, ASD with motor delay).
- Develop, implement, and review individualized treatment plans (ITPs) and therapy goals in collaboration with teachers, parents, and other health professionals.
- Deliver 1:1 and group physiotherapy sessions tailored to each child's developmental level and physical needs.
- Provide support for physical access and mobility within the school environment, including recommending adaptations and assistive equipment.
- Monitor progress and outcomes using evidence-based tools and update care plans accordingly.
- Support pupils with postural management programs, mobility aids, orthotics, and safe handling strategies.
- Work closely with teaching staff, occupational therapists, speech & language therapists, and school nurses.
- Contribute to multi-disciplinary team meetings, reviews, and transition planning.
- Maintain accurate clinical records, risk assessments, and reports in line with professional standards.
- Provide training to school staff and families on physiotherapy programs, manual handling, and positioning techniques.
- 3 to 7 years working with children and adults with multiple disabilities
- Degree in Physiotherapy (BSc or MSc) and HCPC registration (Health and Care Professions Council)
- Previous experience working with children and/or young people with special needs is highly desirable.
- Manual Handling and Safeguarding Children
- Knowledge of conditions affecting motor development and experience with specialist equipment (e.g. standing frames, gait trainers).
- Previous experience working with children and/or young people with special needs is highly desirable.
