We are currently seeking an HTML Developer to join our Creative Communications team in Chennai. In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Understanding project goals and strategy from conception through completion as per design specifications
  • Identifying opportunities for technical improvements and making constructive suggestions for change/improvements
  • Working closely with project managers, technical leads, and design team members to ensure design conversions are accurate to the designs
  • Collaborating with the user experience team on interaction design and the design team on visual design for execution
  • Ensuring pixel-perfect sites are developed and meet design requirements to integrate code with the back-end development team
  • Using hooks in XHTML to limit the number of classes and ID's required on a page for projects
  • Working with project operations/account managers/art directors to develop design options for potential/new business opportunities
  • Working with production staff/HTML developers to ensure client requirements are met with high-quality standards
  • Developing quality parameters and standard procedures for consistency in ensuring RRD brand and performance at each stage of delivering work product/outcomes
  • Understanding HTML best practices/latest web design trends in user interface design and leveraging them on project applications
  • Conducting/participating in brainstorming sessions, workshops, and other activities to maintain team synergy and providing regular mentorship support to HTML developers on technical know-how
  • Independently working on challenging client requirements/assignments to produce high-quality deliverables and proactively troubleshooting issues
  • Attending to adhoc/any additional duties and responsibilities assigned by top and senior management from time to time

Requirements for this role include:

  • 5+ years of experience with an excellent portfolio of work
  • Strong HTML (4 & 5), CSS (2 & 3) table-less design and JavaScript/AJAX/jQuery libraries and experience implementing them across various platforms like web, mobile, and custom-built applications
  • Thorough understanding and application of hooks in XHTML to limit the number of classes and IDs required on a page for projects
  • Knowledge of Adobe CS and other coding tools/online solutions for design integration
  • Expert knowledge of CSS inheritance and its application, IE quirks, cross-browser issues, and how to address them
  • Expert knowledge of how to optimize code and check right syntax usage
  • Good knowledge of working with frameworks like WordPress, Joomla, Magento, Drupal, etc.
  • Good understanding of designing and flash technologies/application and Server-side scripting
