Role Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Design Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and optimizing PCBs to resolve reliability, schedule, and cost issues at internal or external fabricators.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret Electrical/Electronic Schematics and create detailed Fabrication drawings of Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) and Gerber files.
  • Develop hardware design documents covering analysis, notes, and specific guidelines followed.
  • Design high-performance/bandwidth PCBs for efficient manufacturing processes.
  • Perform PCB layout for analog, digital, and RF circuit boards through fabrication and assembly drawings generation.
  • Ensure seamless transfer of schematic net-list design, ID, and ME design into the physical PCB design based on electrical considerations.
  • Create and manage PCB documentation including fabrication and assembly drawings, Gerber files.
  • Coordinate and approve PCB layout.
  • Prepare Bills of Materials (BOM) and fabrication documentation, following revision control procedures.
  • Bring up and test PCBs and auxiliary electronics.

Requirements:

A relevant Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering, Design, Electronics Engineering, Embedded System Engineering, ECE, or ETC is required.

Desired skills and qualifications include:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience using two or more PCB designing tools from KiCAD, ISIS, ARES, Allegro, or similar industry standards.
  • Familiarity with PCB failure modes, reliability in extreme environments, and ability to resolve issues arising from these.
  • Excellent knowledge of PCB manufacturing processes and materials.
  • Strong understanding of digital and analog circuit design fundamentals.
  • Strong logic/board debug and analytical skills.
