Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Technical Lead to oversee the Field Instrumentation scope within large projects. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise and excellent leadership skills to deliver technically correct solutions to customers within agreed schedules and deadlines.

The successful candidate will work closely with Engineering Supervisors, other Leads, and Project Managers to understand customer project specifications, RFQs, etc.

Evaluation of project inputs and collation of technical queries through emails/teleconferences for projects executed remotely from India will be an essential part of this role.

Responsibilities include developing Design Specifications/BOM for Field Instrumentation scope, carrying out Basic and Detailed Design Engineering, third-party Field Instrumentation engineering ordering, testing, FAT, site commissioning, system cut-overs, loop checking.

The candidate will also develop Typical/Templates for Field Instrumentation items as per project-specific standards, read and understand P&IDs, Control Narratives, Logic diagrams, etc.

Maintenance of assigned work scope against the project plan, effective change control, identification of risks/opportunities, ensuring engineered solutions meet project requirements in terms of functionality, standards, quality, and supporting documentation and implementation process.

Participation in customer meetings, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and hand over the project to the customer will be expected.

Ensuring group work is in compliance with quality/safety procedures, identifying possible improvement opportunities, and managing their implementation.

Promotion of common methods, techniques, tools, and products agreed by the knowledge communities/Process Owner Group (POG) Leaders, provision of feedback for future improvements, and review of application engineer deliverables with respect to project standards and quality documents.

Final deliverables meeting functional specifications of the customer through thorough quality checks and usage of engineering tools for optimization of engineering man-hours are crucial.
