Job Title: Data Analyst

Enablemining is a global mining consultancy headquartered in Australia. We specialize in providing a full spectrum of services, including strategy, mine planning, and technical evaluations for coal and metalliferous mines.

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and technically versatile Data Scientist on a fixed 2 month contract with a potential for extension to deliver data-driven initiatives across the business. This role demands deep expertise in data mining, statistical modeling, algorithm development, and simulation design.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to uncover actionable insights, optimize performance, and drive strategic outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for leveraging data to solve business challenges and improve outcomes.
  • Mine and analyze structured and unstructured data using tools such as Python, R, SQL, and Spark.
  • Build and implement predictive models, simulations, and machine learning algorithms to optimize customer experience, revenue, and operational efficiency.
  • Assess and validate new data sources and collection methods for accuracy and relevance.
  • Develop custom data models and scalable algorithms tailored to business needs.
  • Use Power BI to visualize insights and communicate findings effectively.
  • Lead automation of data flows, reporting, and analytical processes using Python, R, Power Query, and cloud-based tools.
  • Coordinate with engineering, product, and business teams to deploy models and monitor performance.
  • Design and implement tools and processes to track model accuracy, data quality, and business impact.
  • Deliver training modules and mentor junior analysts to build analytical capability across the organization.
  • Share best practices and foster a culture of continuous improvement and data literacy.
Work Experience and Skills

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in quantitative field (Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, etc.).

• At least 2 years' of experience in quantitative analytics or data modeling.

• Proven experience in advanced analytics, statistical modeling, and machine learning.

• Strong programming skills in Python and R.

• Proficient in Power BI, SQL, and data visualization best practices.

• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS.

• Skilled in process mapping, redesign, and automation of complex workflows.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and drive change.

• Ability to navigate and integrate data across multiple platforms and systems.
