Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned accounting professional to lead our financial team. As an Accountant Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.

Your primary responsibilities will include managing revenue recognition processes, performing detailed accounting research, and effectively leading and managing staff.

This position plays a critical role in coordinating the annual audit and ensuring proper internal controls over financial reporting are in place.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the month-end close process, including accurate and timely recording of income, expenses, and changes in assets and liabilities on a monthly basis in accordance with IFRS requirements.
  • Review and approve journal entries and monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement trend analyses for management.
  • Prepare quarterly lender compliance packages.
  • Ensure overall technical accounting compliance by monitoring relevant IFRS and US GAAP developments to ensure accounting policies and procedures comply with current standards.
  • Act as an internal technical accounting expert, performing research and preparing technical accounting memos, reviewing new and existing revenue contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally during contract negotiation processes, analyzing impact of non-standard contract terms, communicating revenue impact, and offering alternative structures.
  • Participate in quarterly forecasting procedures and the annual budget process.
  • Support the annual audit and quarterly reviews, providing supporting analysis and technical accounting memos.
  • Provide training sessions and keep business partners informed of developments in accounting and revenue recognition.
  • Offer excellent customer service to other departments and stakeholders.
  • Develop and/or improve existing policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Work closely with senior finance professionals on various initiatives and complete other ad-hoc requests.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • CPA/CA Certification preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 7 years of experience in finance and accounting, with at least 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of public accounting experience required.

Skills/Knowledge:

  • Strong technical accounting background with thorough knowledge of both IFRS and US GAAP, including experience with technical research and preparation of accounting memorandums.
  • Software revenue recognition experience a plus.
  • Ability to clearly document and communicate complex accounting issues to the finance team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and manage individuals.
  • High level of ethics and integrity.
  • Experience with accounting systems, Microsoft D365 Finance experience a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with knowledge of complex functions and data analysis using tools such as V-Lookup and Pivot Tables.
  • Ability to cultivate a positive team atmosphere.
