Supply Chain Optimization Specialist

The Supply Chain Optimization Specialist will be responsible for designing and managing end-to-end supply chains. This includes transportation network design, inbound logistics, warehouse optimization, and third-party logistics evaluation.

This role involves freight cost optimization, sales operations planning, demand forecasting, capacity planning, lean manufacturing, inventory segmentation, safety stock calculations, and continuous improvement through Kaizen and Six Sigma methodologies.

To excel in this position, the ideal candidate will have a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with 8-10 years of experience in managing supply chain domains in the automobile industry. Proficiency in SAP, MS Office tools, and Procon is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing supply chain strategies to drive business growth and efficiency
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize logistics and transportation networks
  • Analyzing data to inform inventory management decisions and reduce costs
  • Designing and implementing warehouse layouts to improve productivity and reduce waste
  • Evaluating and selecting third-party logistics providers to ensure optimal service levels and costs
  • Managing freight costs through negotiations with carriers and optimizing routes
  • Developing and executing sales operations plans to meet customer demands and drive revenue growth
  • Forecasting demand and adjusting inventory levels accordingly to minimize stockouts and overstocking
  • Planning and managing capacity to meet customer needs while minimizing excess capacity
  • Implementing lean manufacturing principles to eliminate waste and improve quality
  • Segmenting and classifying inventory to improve visibility and reduce costs
  • CALCULATING SAFETY STOCK AND REORDER POINTS TO MINIMIZE STOCKOUTS AND OVERSTOCKING
  • DEVELOPING INVENTORY VISIBILITY AND REDUCTION STRATEGIES TO IMPROVE EFFICIENCY AND REDUCE COSTS
  • IDENTIFYING AND MITIGATING SUPPLY CHAIN RISKS TO ENSURE BUSINESS CONTINUITY

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • 8-10 years of experience in managing supply chain domains in the automobile industry
  • Proficiency in SAP, MS Office tools, and Procon
  • Prior experience in project management, quality assurance, and certification in supply chain management preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project management certification (e.g. PMP)
  • Quality assurance certification (e.g. CQA)
  • Supply chain management certification (e.g. SCMP)
