Cognos and Informatica Administrator Job Description

This role involves overseeing the installation, configuration, and upgrade of Cognos and Informatica application components, including servers, clients, and related tools.

  • Key responsibilities include monitoring and maintaining performance, availability, and security of Cognos and Informatica environments;
  • Collaborating with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and provide technical guidance;
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to Cognos and Informatica applications, databases, servers, and integrations;
  • Ensuring data integrity, backups, and disaster recovery planning and implementation;
  • Implementing best practices for administration, security, and performance tuning;
  • Managing user access, roles, and permissions within Cognos and Informatica environments;
  • Coordinating with vendors for product support, patches, upgrades, and license management;
  • Maintaining knowledge of the latest trends and advancements in Cognos and Informatica technologies;
  • Documenting technical processes, procedures, and configurations.
