Lead Software Developer

The Role of Lead Software Developer

As a key member of the software development department, the lead developer provides essential programming support across various projects.

  • This role is responsible for designing and implementing complex software systems and generating reports to enable analysts to explore real-world data assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Excellent programming skills in R and SQL are required, along with the ability to implement complex logic.
  • Candidates must be comfortable creating complex datasets from various data sources, ensuring accuracy and precision.

Technical Requirements:

  • Proficiency in database management using SQL is essential.
  • Expertise in working with large databases such as Flatiron or COTA is highly desirable.
  • A good understanding of algorithms and statistical models is also required.

General Responsibilities:

  • Effective leadership of project meetings is crucial.
  • Presenting project updates internally and at client meetings is an important aspect of this role.
  • Sharing technical knowledge within the team and with colleagues is also essential.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or other subjects with high statistical content.
  • At least 7-8 years of experience in software development.
  • Database design and programming using SQL is necessary.
  • Experience with advanced software development methodologies.

Other Information/Additional Requirements:

  • A Master's degree in Computer Science or related field can be beneficial.
  • Training or experience using cloud-based software is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Python, R, Databricks, or other software development tools is also an advantage.
