Freelance SAS Modeler Engineer Job Opportunity

Overview:

This role is a fantastic chance for experienced professionals to work as freelance SAS modeler engineers. The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of experience in statistical modeling and analytics, with expertise in Base SAS, SAS/STAT, Enterprise Miner, Visual Analytics, PROC SQL, macros, and Python.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Modeling & Analytics: Develop and implement statistical/predictive models using SAS and Python.
  • Migration Leadership: Oversee the migration of existing SAS code to optimized Python equivalents.
  • Code Translation: Convert complex SAS macros, procedures, and workflows into streamlined Python equivalents.
  • Best Practices: Establish and maintain standards for modeling, workflows, and performance monitoring.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance to team members on Python adoption, coding practices, and analytics workflows.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Advanced SAS skills: proficiency in Base SAS, SAS/STAT, Enterprise Miner, Visual Analytics, PROC SQL, and macros.
  • Expert-level Python skills: pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, matplotlib, seaborn, PySpark (optional).
  • Statistical strength: regression, forecasting, clustering, classification, A/B testing, causal inference.
  • Migration experience: proven success leading large-scale SAS to Python transitions.
  • Leadership: ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and deliver high-impact results.
