Narrative Designer

We are seeking a talented individual to craft engaging stories and dialogue for our games. As a Narrative Designer, you will be responsible for designing branching narrative flows, character arcs, and dialogue that respond to player choices while aligning with gameplay and tone.

  • Write Dialogue and Character Interactions: You will write compelling dialogue, character interactions, and narrative events that bring our game's story to life.
  • Design Branching Story Flows: Using dialogue graph tools, you will design and implement complex branching story flows that respond to player choices.
  • Collaborate with Designers and Artists: You will work closely with designers, artists, and programmers to integrate story with gameplay and visuals.
  • Create Character Backstories and Lore: You will develop rich character backstories, lore, and world-building elements that enhance our game's narrative.
  • Maintain Tone and Pacing: Ensuring consistency of tone, pacing, and player agency across the narrative is crucial for this role.

Requirements:

  • Strong Writing Skills: A strong portfolio of writing skills, especially in dialogue-driven storytelling, is essential for this position.
  • Experience with Interactive Narratives: You should have experience working with interactive/branching narratives (games, visual novels, or similar).
  • Genre Experience: Experience in mystery, detective, or choice-driven genres is highly desirable.
  • Collaboration Skills: Ability to collaborate closely with game designers, artists, and programmers is vital for success in this role.

Good to Have: Familiarity with narrative design tools can be beneficial but is not required.
