- Government and Stakeholder Relations: Build and maintain positive relationships with government officials, agencies, and other relevant stakeholders. Represent the company in meetings, hearings, and discussions with government authorities and community representatives.
- Permitting and Approvals: Prepare and submit applications for various permits, licenses, and clearances required for real estate projects. Facilitate the processing of applications and follow up with authorities to expedite the approval process.
- Legal Documentation and Compliance: Review legal agreements, contracts, and other documentation related to real estate projects to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Coordinate with legal teams to address any legal issues or concerns that may arise during project development.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify potential risks related to regulatory compliance and develop strategies to mitigate these risks. Advise internal teams on potential challenges and recommend solutions to ensure project success.
- Community Engagement: Engage with local communities to understand their concerns and expectations regarding real estate development projects. Develop strategies to address community concerns and build support for projects.
- Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all interactions, permits, approvals, and related documentation with government authorities and stakeholders. Prepare regular reports on the status of permit applications, project approvals, and compliance with regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in law, urban planning, public administration, or a related field.
- Master's degree or additional certifications is a plus.
- Proven experience in liaisoning or government relations roles, preferably within the real estate development industry.
- Strong knowledge of government regulations, zoning laws, and local policies related to real estate development.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with government authorities, regulatory bodies, and local communities.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with the local real estate market and political landscape is advantageous.
- Proactive approach to handling challenges and resolving issues.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
