Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal DevOps Engineer to join our team. As a Principal DevOps Engineer, you will play a key role in leading our DevOps practices and implementing automation solutions to improve our infrastructure. You will be responsible for strategizing and implementing our DevOps practices, leveraging your technical expertise in Ansible, Terraform, scripting, and cloud technologies to architect, build, and manage scalable, reliable infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build a strong DevOps culture that emphasizes collaboration, automation, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical leadership to identify opportunities, remove roadblocks, and mentor team members.
  • Ensure commitments and progress to schedules remain clear, reasonable, and proactively monitored.
  • Set and communicate team/individual objectives and KPI to inspire individuals to achieve high performance.
  • Provide end-to-end ownership of our application environments in Azure.
  • Design complex cloud environments with reusable components and maintainable code using Terraform and Ansible.
  • Architect enterprise CI/CD strategy with build and deployment pipelines.
  • Support engineering teams in maintaining and improving our source code management, repository structures, and branching strategy in Git.
  • Partner with engineering teams to ensure that our solutions meet their needs.
  • Evangelize for technology and solution underpinnings of DevOps solutions, processes, and tooling across all environments.
  • Coach the team in delivering solutions that are secure, scalable, robust, and easy to implement and maintain.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring for junior team members.
  • Work cross-team, cross-product, and cross-functionally to identify areas of opportunity and provide assistance as needed.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships and run virtual teams to develop and deliver innovative solutions for customers and prospects.
  • Shape, communicate, and drive towards the future-state vision of the product and the organization.
  • Stay ahead of the curve by constantly learning and integrating new DevOps technologies and methodologies.
Requirements
  • 12-15 years of overall experience with a minimum of 10+ years in DevOps and cloud architecting solutions.
  • Proven experience in a DevOps or software engineering complete SDLC tech leadership role with the ability to develop high-performing teams with engineering excellence.
  • Applications solutions design and architecture, development, deployment, and configuration management knowledge strongly desired.
  • Deep knowledge and expertise in solving complex automation problems with creative scripting solutions (preferably PowerShell or Python).
  • Expert at utilizing declarative tooling for configuring complex cloud (Azure) environments (preferably Ansible and Terraform).
  • Deep understanding and extensive experience deploying, maintaining, and architecting Kubernetes with containerization.
  • Knowledge of solution design, infrastructure, and automation patterns is desirable.
  • Complete understanding of Git: branching, merging, tagging, conflicts, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience with CI/CD, integrated with a Git strategy (at least one of: GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps Pipelines, GitLab CI/CD, Bitbucket Pipelines, etc.).
  • Experience with containerization technologies, preferably Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Manage business relationships with senior leaders to understand their strategy, identify where our team can add value, and influence leaders towards long-term partnerships.
  • Experience in agile methodology (i.e., Scrum or Scrum with Kanban) with the ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.
  • DevOps solutions design, development, and delivery experience with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willing to work in shift time 2:30 pm to 11:30 pm (IST).
  • Team player.
