About the Opportunity:
Springer Nature offers an exciting opportunity for a skilled publishing professional to join our team as a Journal Development Specialist. In this role, you will play a vital part in developing and managing some of our most prestigious journals.
Responsibilities:
- Manage journal pipelines, ensure growth, and timely publication.
- Analyze market trends, predict future developments, and communicate with EiCs, Societies, and Editorial Boards.
- Prepare development plans, proposals, and contracts for new journals, renewals, and amendments.
- Oversee guest editor orientation, special issue activities, and Editor/Reviewer Performance Issues.
- Maintain internal systems, including JFlow, Editorial Manager, SNAPP, CRM, Docusign; SAP/xflow; Pricelist; subscription portal, SharePoint, Google Docs, Hive, AP payments, and other systems.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5-7 years of direct experience in developing and managing journals.
- Strong Excel skills required to manage tracking projects across a portfolio of journals.
- Detailed-oriented, organized, and analytical skills are essential.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; thorough knowledge of office procedures including efficient e-recordkeeping.
- Ability to act diplomatically in representing Springer.
- Good team player and strong interpersonal skills to manage expectations.
- Strong computer skills required in MS Word, Excel; and PowerPoint is a must.
