Senior Financial Accountant Role

This position plays a pivotal role in the financial operations of our organization. The Senior Financial Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial transactions, maintaining relationships with vendors, and preparing various financial reports.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with vendors on payments, refunds, and reconciliations to ensure seamless financial operations.
  • Update the supplier reconciliation portal to ensure timely and accurate vendor information.
  • Work closely with clients to obtain missing vendor bills and approvals, fostering strong client relationships.
  • Prepare weekly AP reports, process vendor payments, and allocate them in the books, providing transparent financial management.
  • Review vendor reconciliations performed by other team members to maintain high-quality financial reporting.
  • Chase W9 forms from vendors and prepare 1099 workpapers to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Perform tax return reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records.
  • Review sales entries on a weekly basis to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Examine sales tax and prompt tax working files, and prepare use tax calculations to optimize financial performance.
  • Prepare CRT/TPT/8027 and other county tax returns to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial statements.
  • Respond promptly to emails (within 48 hours) to provide timely support and assistance.
  • Deliver AP reports to clients on time, meeting expectations and deadlines.
  • Meet internal month-end closing deadlines for financials to ensure timely completion of financial tasks.
  • Train new team members and help them settle into their roles, promoting knowledge sharing and collaboration.
  • E nsure adherence to internal processes and systems, upholding high standards of financial management.
  • Be open to learning new processes and taking on additional responsibilities as assigned, demonstrating adaptability and a growth mindset.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce or related field, providing a solid foundation in financial principles.
  • Strong understanding of accounting and financial principles, enabling effective financial management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, facilitating strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, driving innovative solutions and financial performance.
