Direct Tax Specialist

Job Summary:

As a Direct Tax Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in our team, handling a diverse range of responsibilities including merger and acquisition advisory on complex issues. This role requires strong analytical skills, the ability to research and interpret tax laws, and effective communication and presentation skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice on direct tax matters, including mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence on tax implications for clients.
  • Prepare and review transaction documentation to ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  • Offer international tax advisory services, focusing on BEPS, MLI, GAAR, DTAA, and domestic tax laws.
  • Develop and implement inbound and outbound structuring strategies for clients.
  • Interpret treaties and provide guidance on treaty applications.
  • Research and prepare case notes on varied income-tax issues, briefing senior counsels as required.
  • Deliver high-quality deliverables in the form of slide decks, opinions, notes, and memos.
  • Assist in direct tax litigation support, drafting submissions and briefing senior counsels.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years PQE (Post-Qualification Experience) in a similar role.
  • Qualified CA (Chartered Accountant) with excellent knowledge of tax laws.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to research and interpret tax laws.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with experience in presenting complex information to clients and stakeholders.
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment.
