Senior Distribution Strategist

Job Title: Senior Distribution Strategist

Description:

We are seeking a skilled Senior Distribution Strategist to lead our mass retail distribution strategy. The ideal candidate will have 8-10 years of experience in distribution, preferably in Telecom/FMCG/Mass Retail Distribution industry.

  • Develop and execute plans to achieve gross and net acquisition targets for the distribution channel.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive market leadership through revenue growth and market share expansion.
  • Design and implement a robust distribution channel strategy to enhance trade advocacy, retailer NPS, sustainable reach, coverage, and geographical footprint.
  • Establish mechanisms for gathering competition intelligence insights to protect base subscribers, increase revenue share, and expand geographical presence.
Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Objectives:

  • Provide input to the overall sales strategy to drive profitability of the distribution channel.
  • Set targets for the distribution channel, covering business and distribution KPIs (Gross, GAS, Distribution UAO, DURO, Revenue etc). Deliver sales targets for all products by ongoing monitoring and reviews of the distribution channel.
  • Develop channel expansion strategies by evaluating distribution coverage, penetration, and performance.
  • Plan new product launches in the distribution channel with the Sales and Marketing Heads.

Operational Objectives:

  • Achieve revenue targets for the distribution channel for all products across brands.
  • Expand the distribution network by appointing and monitoring partners in new and existing areas.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Head to decide incentive plans for channel partners and monitor their implementation.
  • Implement national initiatives at the circle level.
  • Monitor and plan SIP targets along with the SEM Head.

Developmental Objectives:

  • Identify development areas and recommend training programs/interventions for distribution manpower.
  • Collaborate with the SEM team to develop training programs for internal sales teams and distributors for new products and initiatives.
  • Guide and mentor team members who are not achieving desired SIP targets, in collaboration with the SEM team.
  • Share best practices within the circle and other circles.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven track record in distribution planning and channel strategy implementation.
  • Ability to lead channels with large numbers of partners of varying sizes and complexity.
  • Ability to manage dynamic, high-uncertainty environments.
  • Influencing skills, analytical and commercial ability, effective relationship management skills, and proven ability to function within a matrix organization.
  • Independent thought leadership and drive to execute.
