Frontend Architect

The role involves leading the development and architecture of modern web applications in eCommerce and product development contexts.

This includes designing and developing complex, scalable frontend applications using React.js, Next.js, Angular, TypeScript, and Node.js. The candidate will collaborate with business stakeholders to understand UI/UX requirements, estimate story points, and identify implementation risks.

Additionally, the successful candidate will provide hands-on mentorship through debugging, code pairing, and architectural guidance. They will also perform code reviews, merges, and builds of front-end components.

Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Leadership & Delivery
  • Design and develop complex, scalable frontend applications using a variety of frameworks and technologies.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand UI/UX requirements, estimate story points, and identify potential risks.
  • Provide expert mentorship through debugging, code pairing, and architectural guidance.
  • Perform thorough code reviews, merges, and builds of front-end components.
People & Team Management
  • Directly manage engineers, conducting regular performance evaluations and career growth conversations.
  • Lead team construction and recruitment efforts, focusing on diverse talent acquisition.
  • Contribute to hiring strategies and interview processes, ensuring a fair and inclusive evaluation process.
  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of team building and operations.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of frontend engineering experience with a focus on modern web stacks and technologies.
  • Hands-on expertise in a range of frontend tools, including React, Next.js, Angular, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, Node.js, JavaScript (ES6+), and component libraries like Material-UI or Chakra UI.
  • A proven track record of delivering and owning large-scale production applications.
  • Experience in leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration is essential.
