L2 Network Engineer – Cisco Tetration

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced L2 Network Engineer with a strong background in networking and hands-on experience with Cisco Tetration. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and managing the customer's Cisco Tetration platform deployed in their Data Center environment, ensuring effective monitoring, policy enforcement, and system optimization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational Support: Provide level 2 operational support for Cisco Tetration, including day-to-day monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Configuration and Deployment: Assist in the configuration and deployment of Cisco Tetration components and sensors.
  • Policy Implementation: Support the implementation of application segmentation and micro-segmentation policies across the data center environment.
  • Telemetry Analysis: Analyze telemetry data to ensure network visibility, security posture, and compliance.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with internal IT and security teams to troubleshoot policy conflicts and application visibility issues.
  • Platform Management: Assist with upgrades, patches, and performance tuning of the Tetration platform.
  • Documentation: Maintain technical documentation and support logs related to Cisco Tetration operations.
  • Escalation: Escalate issues to L3/engineering teams as necessary, following incident management protocols.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • A minimum of 7–8 years of total experience in Network Engineering or IT Infrastructure roles.
  • At least 1–2 years of hands-on experience with Cisco Tetration platform in operational environments.
  • Strong knowledge of network fundamentals, including TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP/OSPF), VLANs, ACLs, and firewalls.
  • Working knowledge of data center infrastructure, virtualization (VMware), and Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with application traffic mapping, segmentation, and policy enforcement using Cisco Tetration.
  • Familiarity with network and security best practices, compliance, and audit reporting.
  • Good communication skills to work in a distributed and remote support model.
