Job Overview

The role of a Quality Assurance Engineer is pivotal in ensuring the quality and reliability of products, particularly in high-stakes industries such as aerospace. A key focus area for this position will be to develop and implement quality plans, procedures, and standards that meet regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Establish and maintain quality management systems (QMS) that adhere to industry standards (e.g., ECSS, MIL-STD).
    • Participate in design reviews to ensure that quality requirements are embedded into the product development lifecycle.
    • Conduct regular audits and process evaluations across vendors and internal teams to identify areas for improvement.
    • Ensure traceability and configuration control of components and documentation, as well as version control of designs and documents.
    • Support risk management and failure mode analysis (FMEA, FTA) to mitigate potential issues.
  • Quality Control:
    • Perform inspection and testing of incoming components, in-process assemblies, and final products to verify compliance with acceptance test procedures (ATPs), product identity data (PID), and device tracking records (DTRs).
    • Coordinate environmental testing and review results to ensure that products meet required specifications.
    • Investigate non-conformances and lead root cause analysis and corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
    • Maintain calibration and certification records of test equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
  • 2-3 years of experience in QA/QC roles, preferably in aerospace or space systems.
  • Familiarity with industry standards like ECSS, ISRO-PAS, MIL-STD-883, IPC-A-610.
  • Hands-on experience with inspection tools, test benches, and environmental chambers.
  • Strong documentation, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with satellite subsystems (e.g., Reaction Wheel, Battery, EPS, CDH).
  • Experience with satellite assembly and integration QA/QC.
  • Knowledge of reliability engineering and statistical quality control.
  • Exposure to cleanroom protocols and ESD-safe handling.
  • Certification/Knowledge in Six Sigma, AS9100, or ISO 9001 is a plus.
