EssentiallySports seeks an experienced sports content editor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for sports and storytelling, with excellent writing and editing skills.

Job Description:

As a Sports Content Editor at EssentiallySports, you will be responsible for editing and publishing high-quality articles on various sports topics. You will work closely with a skilled team of writers, editors, and content managers to refine and elevate the content we publish.

You will analyze article performance metrics and use insights to consistently elevate the quality of content. Your deep understanding of our audience will help you fine-tune content, enhancing its impact and relevance even after it's been published.

  • Editing and publishing 20-25 articles each day
  • Fact-checking and researching articles
  • Collaborating with the content quality (CQ) team to refine and elevate content
  • Mentoring and inspiring writers to grow and evolve as contributors to the team
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in English, Media/Journalism, or a similar discipline
  • 6-12 months of experience in sports content editing, proofreading, or a similar role
  • A strong command of the English language and an understanding of American culture
  • Leadership skills to inspire and guide a team of talented writers
  • A passion for sports and storytelling
