As a web development expert, your responsibilities will include:

  • Working within our custom WordPress framework (themes, plugins, internal tools).
  • Creating and maintaining advanced Gutenberg blocks, leveraging hooks, APIs, and custom theme logic.
  • Optimizing database queries and code execution (profiling, debugging, reducing wasted time and memory usage).
  • Integrating with REST APIs and supporting complex integrations/microservices.
  • Collaborating with front-end developers to connect blocks/themes while owning backend architecture.

You'll need mastery over these skills:

  • Deep expertise in PHP and the WordPress ecosystem (hooks, APIs, plugins, themes, Gutenberg).
  • Strong SQL skills and experience optimizing queries for performance.
  • Solid understanding of REST APIs and microservice integration patterns.
  • React experience, especially for Gutenberg block development.
  • Comfortable with Docker/Podman workflows and Linux environments.
  • A performance-minded developer: profiling, measuring, and optimizing code execution.
  • MacOS or Linux development environment required.
  • Good command of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Experience working closely with designers and front-end developers.
  • Awareness of accessibility and Core Web Vitals best practices.

The ideal candidate should have over 4 years of web development and WordPress experience. You should be meticulous and detail-oriented, with a strong team spirit and ability to take initiative.
