Job Overview:

The Dark Web Analyst role involves monitoring dark web channels to identify cyber threats, analyzing threat actor behaviors, and supporting intelligence operations.

This position requires proactive individuals who can discover and monitor underground forums, dark web marketplaces, instant messaging channels, and social media platforms.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Discovering and monitoring dark web activities to identify potential cybercrime threats.
  • Analyzing detected cyber threats to research emerging trends.
  • Tracking financially motivated threat actors, state-backed threat actors, and actors targeting specific regions or clientele.
  • Conducting in-depth investigations using conventional and unconventional methods.
  • Collating research findings into deliverables for timely intelligence dissemination.
  • Providing incident management and threat research support to clients.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work during Indian Standard Time or United States Time Zones.
  • Willingness to work in rotating shifts and weekends to support 24x7 operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent understanding of cybersecurity concepts, modern threat landscape, and intelligence frameworks.
  • Good knowledge of cybercrime methodologies and tactics, techniques, and procedures opted by financially motivated and state-sponsored threat actors.
  • Experience in cyber tradecraft, online persona management, and gathering closed-source information from underground forums.
  • Hands-on experience with OSINT tools, such as Maltego, Shodan, Google Earth, Whois, Search Engines, VirusTotal, and others.
  • Understanding of MITRE ATT&CK framework, operational security (OPSEC), and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of vulnerability assessment and penetration testing (VAPT) methods and red-teaming tools.

Additional Desirable Qualifications:

  • Former experience in law enforcement operations or supporting intelligence operations.
  • Credible cybersecurity certification (CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or equivalent).

Optional Qualifications:

  • Experience in malware research and reverse engineering.
  • Understanding of geopolitical matters and intelligence aspects.
