As a Senior Medical Coder, you will play a critical role in the revenue cycle by accurately assigning medical codes to patient records.
Our ideal candidate has extensive experience in coding for inpatient and outpatient surgical specialties, including orthopedics, general surgery, cardiology, spine, oral, etc. You will be responsible for assigning ICD-10-CM & PCS diagnoses and procedure codes correctly and completely.
In addition, you will require advanced technical knowledge in specific inpatient and outpatient surgical and medical specialties as assigned.
A strong understanding of medical terminology is essential for this role, as well as experience in researching and applying coding rules and regulations.
You will also be expected to have proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and various EMR systems.
Required Skills and Qualifications:- A minimum of 5+ years' experience in coding medical records
- Current AHIMA/AAPC certification(s)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Possess outstanding proficiency in English
