Job Overview:

Aricent is seeking a skilled Database Administrator to support our team.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience as a Database Engineer and a strong understanding of database management systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the health of DB servers through automated and manual processes;
  • Recommend and implement solutions for performance monitoring and tuning;
  • Analyze problems, anticipate future problem areas, and implement solutions;
  • Perform environment setup and configuration, proactive monitoring and maintenance;
  • Support the development of long and short-term requirements for database administration and design;
  • Participate in change control process for all planned application and technical activities;
  • Work with report writers to provide data needed for reports;
  • Investigate and find the root cause for software problems reported by stakeholders;
  • Direct organization of requirements and data into a usable database schema;
  • Perform database administration and maintenance, including installation and configuration, backups, upgrades, patching;
  • Review SQL code written by application developers;
  • Evaluate performance of stored procedures;
  • Create deployment and rollback scripts for all database objects;
  • Analyze access patterns and propose optimal indexing strategies;
  • Proactively identify technical opportunities and enhancements;
  • Manage and ensure the integrity, security, and retention of data;
  • Administer and maintain end-user accounts, permissions, and access rights;
  • Participate in on-call rotation providing 24-hour, 7-day support and off-hours maintenance windows;

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of technologies including MariaDB/Mysql, NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra, etc.);
  • Working knowledge and experience with current Linux operating systems;
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills;
  • Proficient in relational databases and backup and recovery;
  • Comfortable with shell scripting and scripting;
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline;
  • 4+ years of experience with Relational Databases (e.g., MariaDB/Mysql/NoSQL) and above;
  • 2+ years of experience with automation utilizing Shell scripting (Shell, Perl, Python, etc.).

Estimated Salary: $90,000 - $110,000 per year

Location: Remote or On-Site
