Job Role:

The role of a Dental Payment Processor is to ensure accurate and efficient payment posting, maintaining the integrity of financial data and supporting revenue cycle operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurate Data Entry: Post insurance payments, electronic remittance advices (ERAs), and patient payments into dental billing software with precision.">
• Financial Reconciliation: Reconcile deposits with bank statements and daily payment reports to guarantee all payments are accounted for.">
• Payment Review: Examine Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and ERAs to identify underpayments, overpayments, and denials.">
• Discrepancy Management: Flag and escalate discrepancies or trends in denials or payment issues to the appropriate department.">
• Adjustment Processing: Post adjustments (e.g., write-offs, contractual adjustments) according to payer contracts and internal policies.">
• Account Maintenance: Maintain the accuracy of patient accounts and balances.">
• Collections Collaboration: Work with the appeals or collections team for timely resolution of denied or unpaid claims.">
• Compliance and Confidentiality: Ensure HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality at all times.">
• Productivity and Accuracy: Meet daily and monthly productivity and accuracy goals.">
• Electronic Payments: Collect and download EFTs and ERAs from insurance portals and clearinghouses.">
