Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct a thorough analysis of the current technology landscape to assess the impact of new requirements on existing data integration frameworks.
  • Develop and enhance Spark jobs in Scala for new project needs and ongoing product enhancements, focusing on performance optimization through stress testing and tuning.
  • Design and implement efficient data pipelines using AWS Lambda or Apache Airflow for developed/enhanced Spark jobs.
  • Lead database design efforts, including logical, physical designs, star schema, and snowflake schema.
  • Analyze data processing, integration, modeling, and reporting requirements to define optimal data loading strategies.
  • Balance cost and performance considerations to ensure optimal results.
  • Document projects thoroughly, adhering to quality guidelines and schedules.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers for successful project delivery, providing estimation, scoping, and scheduling assistance.
  • Oversee the build phase, ensuring code quality meets requirements and cloud architecture standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7-9 years of IT experience
  • At least 5 years of AWS project experience
  • Strong knowledge of Associate Level and Professional Level AWS Certification
  • In-depth understanding of required AWS Services: S3, EC2, EMR, Serverless, Athena, AWS Glue, Lambda, Step Functions
  • Cloud Database expertise: Aurora, Singlestore, RedShift, Snowflake
  • Big Data skills: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, YARN
  • Programming proficiency: Scala, Python, Shell Scripts, PySpark
  • Operating Systems familiarity: Linux flavor, Windows
  • Advanced SQL skills
  • Orchestration Tools expertise: Apache Airflow
  • ETL workflow development with complex transformations like SCD, deduplications, aggregations
  • Familiarity with AWS VPC, Subnets, Security Groups, and Route Tables
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new AWS Services and Big Data Technologies
