IT Infrastructure Strategist

Job Opportunity

We are seeking a seasoned IT professional to lead our AVS infrastructure deployments and migrations. This role requires 12 years of experience in IT, with at least 3 years focused on Azure VMware Solution and 5 years on VMware vSphere Azure cloud services deployments and cloud migrations.

Responsibilities:

• You will collaborate with program managers and service delivery teams to plan, architect, and guide complex infrastructure deployments and migrations for large enterprise customers moving from on-premises VMware environments to Azure VMware Solution.
• You will work directly with customer application infrastructure and security stakeholders to define requirements, strategy, and processes for successful design deployment migrations.
• Maintain knowledge of the latest Azure AVS and VMware products to propose designs to customers and act as a subject matter trainer for other specialists.
• Share knowledge with others through solution documents, engage technical communities, build automated self-help solutions, and create training.

Qualifications:

• Successful Candidate Competencies
• Relevant experience in architecting and designing datacentre and cloud infrastructures using VMware and Microsoft technologies.
• Knowledge and implementation experience designing and developing solutions using VMware's Core Cloud Infrastructure.
• Required Azure VMware Solution, VMware vSphere 6.0 and above, VMware NSXT network virtualization technologies (NSX edge services, DNS, DHCP, Gateway, Firewall, Distributed Firewall).
• NSX implementation, NSX migration from VLAN or NSX-v.
• Required VMware vSAN, VMware HCX Advanced Enterprise.
• Preferred VMware Site Recovery Manager, vSphere Replication, VMware management suite (vCD, vROps, vRNI, vRLI), VMware Cloud Director.
• Experience with on-premise-to-Cloud or cloud-to-cloud migrations with VMware HCX.
• Experience with relevant Azure technologies like Azure ExpressRoute, Azure VPN, Azure Virtual WAN, Azure Route Server, Azure networking.
• Preferred Azure Disk Pools, Azure NetApp Files, Azure Monitoring and Security technologies (Monitor, Arc Security Center).
• Preferred 3rd party network virtual appliances, firewalls, load balancers, routers for Azure and VMware environments.
• Experience and good understanding of leading cloud management systems and solutions.
• Strong core platform architecture concepts including hardware, platform, hypervisor, Networking, security, data protection, high availability, monitoring, patching.
• Familiarity with security compliance standards across various enterprise IT landscapes.
• Experience with Azure Hosting or Infrastructure background and public cloud highly desired.
• A good understanding of datacentre networking fabric topologies and common architectures deployed both Layer 2 and Layer 3 based highly desired.
• Strong presentation influencing and communication skills.

Education Qualifications:

• BS or postgraduate degree in Computer Science or technology-focused discipline or equivalent experience.
• VCDX, DCVCMA certification preferred but not required.
• CCDP, CCNP, VCP-NV certification preferred but not required.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience working with enterprise customers on Azure specific solutions and deployment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with corporate customers possess an understanding of the onboarding process and demonstrate a vision for the future.
• Excellent customer service skills, good oral and written communication skills, proven ability to handle difficult and sensitive situations involving the most critical and politically charged customer situations to lead projects and to motivate others.
