About the Role

Duck Creek Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Native Software Engineer to join our team. As a Cloud Native Software Engineer, you will design, develop, and deploy cloud-native applications on the Azure platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop cloud-native applications on Azure
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Work closely with architects to ensure seamless interaction of architectural components, meeting requirements and performance goals
  • Implement best practices for cloud application development, focusing on scalability, security, and performance optimization
  • Develop RESTful APIs and microservices using Java frameworks such as Spring Boot
  • Utilize Azure services such as Azure App Service, Azure Key Vault, Azure Functions, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Storage for application development and deployment
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment processes
  • Monitor and troubleshoot applications deployed on Azure, ensuring high availability and reliability
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in cloud computing and Java development

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
  • 7 to 10 years of comprehensive experience as a Full Stack Developer, with a focus on cloud-native application development
  • Minimum of 3 to 4 years of hands-on experience in real-world enterprise product development
  • Proficiency in object-oriented design and development, with 4 to 5 years of experience in Java, Microsoft SQL Server, Spring, Spring Boot, Rest services, and Microservices, among other technologies
  • In-depth knowledge of Azure Cloud services and platform capabilities
  • Experience with Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipelines (Azure Pipelines, Jenkins) and infrastructure automation
  • Strong experience with database development with SQL Server. Experience with advanced queries, stored procedures is expected
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a cloud environment
  • Proficient in developing with test automation frameworks such as JUnit, JMeter, Selenium/Nightwatch JS, or similar tools
  • Working experience with Code Quality tools like Sonar or Snyk is preferred
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
  • Adept at managing deadlines, effective communication within a team, and capable of operating independently with guidance when necessary
  • Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Developer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect) are a plus
  • Knowledge or experience in the Insurance domain is considered an added advantage
