HVAC Design Engineer Job Requirements

We are seeking an experienced HVAC design engineer to create comprehensive and sustainable heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design HVAC systems that meet project requirements using heat load calculations, cooling load calculations, and airflow analysis.
  • Utilize software like HAP, Trace 700, or Carrier E-20 for system optimization and energy efficiency analysis.
  • Select and size HVAC equipment (chillers, AHUs, FCUs, heat exchangers, pumps, etc.) based on technical specifications.
  • Develop ductwork, piping layouts, and control systems using AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and Navisworks.
  • Ensure designs comply with industry standards and local building codes.
  • Collaborate with MEP engineers, architects, and contractors for system integration.
  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, and design documentation for project approvals.
  • Conduct cost estimations and bid evaluations for HVAC systems.
  • Support project execution by providing technical guidance during installation and commissioning.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in HVAC design and engineering.
  • Proficiency in HVAC design software (HAP, Trace 700, Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Carrier E-20).
  • Strong knowledge of duct and pipe sizing, psychrometrics, and refrigeration cycles.
  • Familiarity with ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, and other HVAC standards.
  • Experience in energy modeling and sustainable HVAC system design.
  • Ability to troubleshoot HVAC system performance issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in HVAC design (ASHRAE, LEED AP, or similar).
  • Experience working on international projects (Gulf region, US, UK, etc.).
