Job Title: Corporate Legal Advisor

Job Description:

The Corporate Legal Advisor plays a vital role in providing expert legal counsel to an educational institution, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, managing litigation, drafting and reviewing legal documents, and advising on policy development to protect the institution's interests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Legal Advice and Compliance:
    • Provide timely and accurate legal advice on various matters to senior officials, ensuring adherence to all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Contract and Document Management:
    • Draft, review, and vet legal documents, including Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and standard agreements with external parties.
  • Litigation Management:
    • Coordinate with the institution & external legal advisors and standing counsels on court matters, preparing responses to grievances and attending court when necessary.
  • Policy Development:
    • Monitor and manage internal legal processes, update existing internal policies, and help formulate and implement new ones.
  • Grievance and Dispute Resolution:
    • Act as a member secretary for committees, such as the Committee Against Sexual Harassment, and handle internal disputes from a legal perspective.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in law (LLB or LLM) from a recognized institution with Bar Council registration.
Experience and Skills:
  • Minimum of six years of experience is required as an advocate or working in the legal department of an organization preferably in the education sector, demonstrating hands-on application of legal knowledge.
  • Possess strong analytical, negotiation, and drafting skills, along with excellent oral and written communication abilities. Knowledge of Telugu is essential.
