Broadband Engineer

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Pricing Specialist.

The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of industry requirements for all outside plant engineering and construction needs, allowing them to accurately price projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review customer-provided Request for Proposals (RFPs) documents to gain a comprehensive understanding of project scope, RFP response requirements, project specifications, project schedule, and customer objectives.
• Develop customized estimate and bid preparation templates tailored to each RFP project, ensuring accurate and efficient proposal submissions.
• Utilize advanced Excel skills to create detailed cost breakdowns, high-level schedules, risk registers, preliminary resource plans, and populate customer bid pricing forms with precision.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather essential project information, ensuring accurate estimates and minimizing risks.
• Conduct in-depth analysis and research to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and develop effective risk mitigation strategies.
• Effectively communicate with internal stakeholders to present estimates, address inquiries, and provide recommendations as needed.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to continuously improve estimating processes and accuracy.
• Perform miscellaneous duties related to Estimating as assigned.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in estimating within the broadband, telecom, or outside plant industry.
• Expertise in Excel with the ability to develop complex spreadsheets and models.
• A self-motivated individual with a strong passion for the industry and a drive for excellence.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact with team members and clients.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in commercial and/or industrial low voltage and/or fiber optic cabling project coordination and estimating as combined, related, and relevant.
• Able to read and understand blueprints, structural drawings, and plan sets.
• Compliance with risk management policies and safety procedures.
• Experience preparing budgets for each project.
• Knowledge of construction materials, processes, trade practices, and equipment.
• OSHA 10, 30 Certifications preferred.
• Proficiency in using software suites such as Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent written and communication skills in English.
