Product Designer

The role of a product designer in solid wood furniture goes beyond creativity; it involves understanding customer needs and developing products that meet global market demands.
As a product designer, your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting research to identify customer preferences through past sales data, social media, and international market trends.
- Creating original design concepts in solid wood (Mango, Oak, Acacia, Teak) that align with the company's export strengths.
- Drafting production-ready drawings using CAD tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, SketchUp, or Rhino.
- Collaborating with merchandising and sourcing teams to translate concepts into viable collections.
- Working with prototyping teams to refine joinery, finishes, ergonomics, and structural integrity.
- Incorporating KD (knock-down) joinery, export packaging standards, and compliance requirements.
- Developing design boards, line sheets, and client presentations for export buyers.
Requirements for this position include:
- At least 2 years of experience in furniture design, preferably in solid wood.
- Strong skills in CAD tools.
- Knowledge of global furniture trends, ergonomics, finishing techniques, and joinery.
- Ability to translate abstract research into commercially viable designs.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
