Job Title: Cost Accountant

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing Depreciation Statements, analysing financial data to support decision-making, and ensuring proper revenue and expense recognition.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Depreciation Statement Preparation: Prepare accurate and timely Depreciation Statements in accordance with Company Act and Income Tax Act requirements.
  • Financial Data Analysis: Analyse financial data to identify trends, areas of improvement, and opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Revenue and Expense Recognition: Ensure that revenues and expenses are properly recognised and accounted for in accordance with accounting standards.
  • Fiscal Year-End Close Activities: Assist with fiscal year-end close activities, including performing reconciliations and reviewing journal entries.
  • Annual Accounts Filing: Assist with the preparation and filing of Annual Accounts with the Registrar of Companies.
  • Monthly Closing Stock Verification: Verify and reconcile monthly closing stock balances to ensure accuracy.
  • Inventory Ageing Statements: Prepare Inventory Ageing statements to monitor inventory turnover and identify slow-moving items.
  • Bank Loan Renewals: Assist with the preparation of required information for Bank loan renewals.
  • Cost Audit: Assist with the preparation of information required for Cost audit.
  • Financial Statements: Prepare accurate and timely Financial Statements in accordance with accounting standards.
  • Vendor and Customer Accounts Reconciliations: Reconcile vendor and customer accounts to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies.
  • General Ledger Functions: Perform general ledger functions, including month-end/year-end close process and journal entry postings.
  • Agreements and Contracts Review: Review agreements and contracts with vendors to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • TDS and TCS Compliances: Ensure compliance with TDS and TCS regulations.
  • Income Tax Assessment Data Submission: Submit income tax assessment data to the statutory auditors.
  • MIS Preparation and Analysis: Prepare and analyse Management Information Systems (MIS) reports to monitor key performance indicators.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Professional Accounting Qualification: Hold a professional accounting qualification, such as CA or CMA.
  • Strong Technical Skills: Possess strong technical skills in accounting software and systems.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex financial issues.
  • Effective Communication Skills: Possess effective communication skills to interact with stakeholders, including management, staff, and external parties.
  • Attention to Detail: Demonstrate attention to detail to ensure accuracy and completeness in all tasks.
