As a Civil and Structural Design Engineer in the oil and gas industry, you will be responsible for the end-to-end design, analysis, and integrity management of complex facilities.

This role covers initial conceptual studies to detailed engineering, and ongoing operational support for both greenfield and brownfield projects.

Job Description

You will ensure the safety, cost-effectiveness, and structural soundness of all civil and structural assets, whether on land or offshore.

A deep understanding of industry-specific codes and standards is critical to ensure compliance and mitigate high-risk scenarios.

You will perform advanced structural analysis and design for both reinforced concrete and steel structures, including pipe racks, platforms, foundations, and buildings.

This includes designing specialized foundations, such as dynamic foundations for large rotating machinery, and pile foundations for complex structures.

You will also conduct comprehensive in-place, fatigue, seismic, and blast analysis for both onshore and offshore structures.

Technical Expertise
  • Expertise in the design of complex structures (concrete and steel), dynamic analysis of equipment foundations, fatigue, seismic, and blast-resistant design.
  • In-depth knowledge of international codes, including API (2A, 1104, etc.), AISC, ASME, and other relevant standards.
  • Advanced user of structural analysis and design software such as STAAD.Pro, SACS, ABAQUS, or ANSYS.
Project Experience

You will lead the civil and structural aspects of projects from the conceptual (FEED) stage through detailed design and into execution.

This involves collaborating with other engineering disciplines (process, piping, mechanical, electrical) to ensure seamless integration of designs.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • 8-12 years of relevant experience in a high-risk industry, preferably in oil and gas, petrochemicals, or energy.
  • Proven experience in both greenfield and brownfield projects, covering all project phases from FEED to commissioning.

This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within an integrated team environment.
