Job Overview

The role of a Network Engineer involves designing, implementing, and troubleshooting complex network architectures. This position requires strong communication skills, as well as the ability to manage support tickets and provide 3rd Line support for incoming customer queries.

Main Responsibilities
  • Incident Management: Manage and effectively handle support tickets for incidents, change, and service requests.
  • Project Planning: Plan and complete projects assigned by the Head of 3rd Line Network Support.
  • Documentation: Document customer solutions, including CMDB, Visio documentation, and technical summary write-ups.
  • DR/Failover Testing: Conduct DR/Failover Testing.
  • Tech Support: Provide resources to the solution delivery team for supporting new customer projects.
  • On-call Duty: Serve on an on-call rota for high-priority incidents outside of regular working hours.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Demonstrable knowledge: CCNP (ENT/DC/SP/SEC) or JNCIP-ENT level
  • Network Security: In-depth knowledge of configuring and troubleshooting network security devices/protocols
  • Troubleshooting: Ability to troubleshoot and isolate faults to identify root cause and bring to resolution
  • Layer 2 and 3 protocols: Advanced knowledge of layer 2 and 3 protocols
  • Firewalls: Experience using at least one of the following firewalls: Palo Alto, Fortigate, Cisco ASA
  • OSPF and BGP: Strong knowledge of OSPF and BGP in an ISP environment
  • Packet Capture: Packet capture and interpretation skills
