Systems Development Engineer

We are seeking a seasoned systems development engineer to lead the design and implementation of integration processes with varying levels of complexity.

The ideal candidate will work closely with customers to understand their business needs and IT strategy, using this information to design solution architecture that meets their specific requirements and technology context.

Strong communication and presentation skills are essential for this customer-facing role, as the successful candidate will be advising project teams during system development to ensure compliance with company standards and presenting technical analysis to stakeholders through discussions and presentations.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

• Understanding customer business needs and IT strategy to design solution architecture appropriate to their needs and technology context.
• Gathering requirements from customers and planning, designing, implementing, testing, and documenting integration processes with varying levels of complexity.
• Developing test plan specifications, testing, and debugging processes according to plan.
• Providing technical analysis for proper handling of our integration processes and molecule/atom deployments, with a focus on simplification and enhanced outputs.
• Being an advisory to customers and maintaining high customer satisfaction through high-quality project delivery.
• Project execution, including project planning and risk identification, as well as project closure, including assessing and helping manage risks to closure.
• Designing and setting up molecule/atom runtime infrastructure on cloud or on-premise with high availability and disaster recovery.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech degree or ME/M.Tech (or equivalent).
• Minimum of 9 to 14 years of IT work experience.
• Professional services/consulting, architecting, and delivering solutions in the systems integration space, SaaS experience desirable.
• Minimum 7+ years of experience in Boomi architecting, designing, and developing Boomi projects.
• Experience in a customer-facing environment such as technical consulting.
• Deep knowledge of EDI integration, API management, and master data hub or master data management.
• Knowledge of Linux/Unix and Windows environments.
• Technical understanding of web services technologies, including REST and SOAP.
• Experience with enterprise integration tools, middleware technologies, and application and data integration patterns, including ESB, MOM, JMS, SOAP/REST web services, databases, ETL.
• Experience with web services (REST & SOAP), Javascript/Groovy languages, XSLT language, and mainstream databases: NoSQL, Oracle, Microsoft.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate, present, and influence credibly and effectively.
• Ability to convert business requirements into a Boomi solution leveraging your understanding of technologies and their capabilities.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills appropriate to both technical and management clients.
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and perform effectively under pressure.

Desirable Requirements

• Familiarity with Boomi elements like EDI, API management, master data hub (MDH), and other visual-based integration middleware platforms.
• Database skills, including SQL, data modeling, and databases (e.g. Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL).
• Messaging/streaming knowledge, including Solace, Kafka, JMS (e.g. ActiveMQ, MQSeries, OracleAQ).
• Preferred experience in Java, JavaScript, Groovy.
• Agile and DevOps methodologies.
• Familiarity with Mulesoft/Apigee/Workato/Tibco.
• Integration endpoint experience with SAP, Workday, NetSuite, Coupa, Solace, Kafka, MS Dynamics 365, Salesforce.
• Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous delivery (CICD).
• Exposure to Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP), SAP, Kubernetes, Docker.
